I thought i would tell you just a little bit about me and my work. But first i would like to say hello and welcome to my website, my name is Debora, I live and work in the beautiful county of Wiltshire in the south west of England in the family home overlooking fields with a garden full of wildlife. My home studio is where I illustrate, design and produce the items that are sold online and at Country shows and events. Each day varies but is always exciting and is usually spent working on new designs, printing mugs and tote bags, making up orders, post office runs, along with lots of mugs of tea and if i am honest a fair bit of time watching the wildlife but more of that later.
Whenever I was asked as a child what I wanted to be when I grew up the answer was always an artist and my wonderful parents encouraged me from an early age to pursue my dreams…and art has and always will be a part of my life. In the past as a freelance illustrator/designer working on major advertising campaigns and in children’s publishing with over 20 of my own children’s books published, all of which i am proud to say have sold internationally to many countries.
Fast forward to the present, I now work from my home studio designing, creating and producing a growing range of cards, prints home and giftware that have sold at events and craft fairs to wonderful customers from all over the world including a new range of needle felt art and sculptures.
What influences my work?
Family, friends, nature, the seasons and the magic of everyday life however cliché you may think that sounds. I still get excited seeing wildlife that visits the garden numerous times, along with when out and about.
I am so lucky to live and work from home in a beautiful part of the world; Surrounded by hedgerows, trees and overlooking fields we have a garden full of wildlife. Visited daily by deer, badgers, foxes, hedgehogs and a wide variety of birds that feast on the food and treats put out for them, they provide hours of entertainment and are a great inspiration for my work.
The items i make.
I try my hardest to source all my supplies from the uk i am always on the look out for UK supplies to work with and if that is not possible, source ethically as in the case of my 100% cotton bags that are Fair Trade.
All items are made individually and lovingly by hand using the finest quality materials in my studio by Little Bee Designs.
